She had a country to call her own
    A home, family, friends
Now all is gone she’s all alone
    Around are scary strangers

How can we sit here watching
    just listening to her cries,
Seeing What has become of her
Watch the suffering in her eyes

    - Ethiopia the land of sorrow -

we have become such a helpless people. Desperation has become the essence of our nationhood. Ethiopia and Ethiopians are on the news quite often for all the wrong reasons. one can clearly read the plight of ethiopia and ethiopians on the face of this little girl - are we a failed nation? Do you, brothers and sisters, see a future to Ethiopia? Call me a pessimist if you like but I am personally blinded to see any thing at all.

What we see on the news about is very sad; but it is a result of the economic deprevation and starvation that is causing it. We need to create job opportunities for the millions of people back home so they don’t have to face the same fate as this mother and her child had to.

I read the comment of Dan. I agree with you but one thing. There will not be an economic emanicipation in Ethiopia unless there exists a socio-political change. Looking at the cause of the Famine could help us to understand the cause of economic setback of the country. It is man-made causal relationship. Land is not given to the Tiller. It is in the hands of the Government. The Government is Woyanne and Woyanne monopolizes all
