Hunger: A discussion (ANNOUNCEMENT)
December 16th, 2008 | EthioPolitics.com |As the world moves towards new realms of prosperity and technological advancements, there are millions of our own people who are suffering –and perishing– daily for lack of life sustaining food. Thus, as Ethiopians, we always ponder: Is hunger the “fate” of today’s generation? Why is a country with so much potential and plenty of natural resources continuously facing famine threats?
The GTH Hunger Relief Committee, a community-based humanitarian organization, invites you to attend a discussion forum intended to explore issues of hunger and to raise funds for the current hunger emergency in Ethiopia. Since the launching of our effort in the year 2000, we have disbursed more than half a million dollars for emergency food aid and the completion of water projects in various drought-affected regions of Ethiopia. We envision towards the strengthening of our humanitarian effort through this public event.
